The Polish-Russian stop-action film maker Ladislas Starevich is the creator of the first puppet animation films. We will screen two of these films. The 1912 Cameraman's Revenge uses animated insects (!). The 1933 The Mascot follows the adventures of a small puppet dog. Both of these early stop-action films are extraordinary.
